SCADA & Remote Monitoring

See Your System. Anywhere. Anytime.

Mercer Controls designs, builds and supports SCADA systems for water and wastewater operations across Texas. Monitor tanks, pumps, wells, lift stations and chlorine residual from a phone, tablet or office PC — and get alarmed the moment something goes wrong.

Our Approach

We Believe in Simple SCADA

SCADA should give you remote access and control over your system without adding a second line to your budget. No per-point licensing, no hefty software fees, and no support contract just to add a tank level.

  • No per-tag or per-point licensing
  • No hefty annual software fees
  • Hardware you own, on a radio or cellular path you control
  • Screens built around what your operators actually use

Simple does not mean limited. You still get live status on every site, pump start/stop and setpoint changes from a phone, alarm callouts, and the trending and reports you need for monthly submittals. Ask what Simple SCADA would cost for your system.

What You Get

  • Viewable on any computer, phone or tablet
  • Live status of every site on one screen
  • Instant alarm calls, texts and e-mails
  • Trending and historical data for reporting
  • Runtime, flow and level logging — no more chart recorders
  • Built, programmed and serviced in-house by Mercer

Two Ways to Get There

Pick the platform that fits your budget and your data needs.

Standard

Essential SCADA

Built on AutomationDirect

  • Lower install cost — the most affordable way to get real SCADA
  • Low monthly fees — minimal licensing and hosting
  • Solid performance — reliable monitoring, control and alarming
  • Live screens, alarms, trends and basic reports
  • Phone, tablet and desktop access

Best for: small to mid-size systems that need dependable monitoring without the overhead.

Premium

Advanced SCADA

  • Maximum flexibility — custom graphics and screens for your plant
  • Powerful charting — multi-pen trends, overlays and operator notes
  • Deep data — long-term history, drill-down and export
  • Advanced reporting and compliance-ready records
  • Higher install and monthly cost — worth it when data matters

Best for: larger plants and operators who live in the data and need serious reporting.

How We Connect: Radio or Cellular

Licensed radio costs more up front, but there is no monthly data bill and you own the link. Cellular is cheap and fast to deploy, with a monthly data charge per site. Distance, terrain and how many sites you are tying together usually decide which one fits — tell us your sites and we will tell you which way to go.

The Panel Behind the Screen

Every SCADA screen sits on a panel we built. Panels typically include:

  • PLC-based control (Allen-Bradley standard, others supported)
  • Radio or cellular telemetry for remote sites
  • Color touchscreen HMI for local monitoring and control
  • Power distribution, protection and panel-mounted devices
  • Interfaces for pumps, tanks, instruments and alarms

Built, wired and tested in-house — clean layouts, clear labeling and screens an operator can read at 2am. We service what we build.

Works With What You Already Have

  • New SCADA systems
  • Expansion of existing telemetry networks
  • Integration with plant or city-wide SCADA platforms
  • Room for future growth and upgrades

We select components for reliability, compatibility and long-term support — not vendor lock-in.
